This church, which is Byzantine in origin, was consecrated in 1607 and was called the main church in Spezzano. In 1819 it was enlarged and in 1825 it was declared “Collegiata insigne”. Inside the church we can find several pictures and objects of interest such us: The expulsion of the merchants from the temple (sec. XVIII), a wooden choir (XVIII century), a painting portraying St. Peter and St. Paul (Francesco Angaria of Cassano, 1769); a round painting of Our Lady of Sorrows (unknown artist, XVIII century); a painting of Purgatory (unknown artist, 1713); a painting of Saint Francis of Paola (unknown artist, 1850); a picture portraying the miracles of S. Francis of Paola by Umberto De Maria (1912); a statue of the body of Christ which is used during the religious processions (1889) and another one of Our Lady of Sorrows.
