 Ciccio Formoso

As a young artist he showed a talent for carving. Even though he worked as a lorry driver, he carried on making lots of wooden sculptures portraying agricultural characters ( oxen, agricultural wagons and mules). He also loved  representing religious subjects. Among these we remember the beautiful sculptures of the Madonna. A fine example of one of these sculptures is the  Madonna holding the baby Jesus which is devoted to the Madonna of the Graces in Spezzano.

  Luigi Rizzo

 

He was born in Santa Caterina (CZ), but he lives in Spezzano. He is well-known for the fineness of his wooden carvings. Even though he is self-taught he has developed his own technique in work. Many works show his link with Calabria and are deeply religious. Rizzo takes part in various local and national exhibitions and always achieves great success.
